Marathi Food

Maharastrian food is riched with ginger, garlic and lots of spices. Tomatoes, brinjales and other vegetables stuffed with masala filling are very popular in Maharastra. Cooking is mainly done in groundnut oil but uses minimum quantity of oil in food. During festivals various dishes are made like bharwa baingan, puran poli, aamti, kohlapuri rassa. These are some popular dishes in Maharastra. Coconut is also used in varoius ways to make sambar(chatni).
Mumbai is famous for variety of dishes including fishes. Bombay Prawn and Pomfret are the delicious prepration in Mumbai. In Deserts, kheer, besan ladoo, boondi ka ladoo and malpua are very famous and delicious deserts of Maharastra.
